Benefits of Our Extended FDIC Coverage Program

Peace of Mind

With this program, your funds are eligible for FDIC insurance protection in amounts well into the millions, all backed by the full faith and credit of the federal government. Additionally, since deposit accounts are not subject to floating net asset values, you can feel secure knowing that market volatility will not negatively affect principal.

Improve Liquidity and Earn Interest

Enjoy access to your funds through money market deposit accounts. With CD placements, you can choose from multiple term options to meet your liquidity needs. You can also earn interest by putting cash balances to work in money market deposit accounts or CDs.

One Bank Approach

Work directly with just us—a bank you know and trust— to access multi-million-dollar FDIC insurance and forego the need to use repo sweeps, to track collateral on an ongoing basis, or to manually consolidate statements and disbursements from multiple banks.

Snapshot

What is ICS?

ICS is a deposit program that works like a demand deposit or money market account that offers accessibility to funds on a daily basis while earning a market interest rate. ICS offers the benefit of extended FDIC Insurance, so customers can enjoy peace of mind.2,3

What is CDARS?

CDARS is a certificate of deposit program that allows customers to lock in the funds on a term basis and earn a market interest rate for the term of the deposit. CDARS does not offer daily liquidity and if redeemed before maturity, may be subject to early withdrawal penalties. CDARS also offers the benefit of extended FDIC Insurance.

How does it work?

Since IDB Bank is a member of the IntraFi Network, we place customers’ CDARS or ICS funds into member banks and divide the deposits into amounts under the standard FDIC insurance maximum of $250,000. This process allows the customer deposit to enjoy pass through FDIC insurance. As a result, customers can access FDIC coverage from many institutions while working directly with IDB Bank.
