A Rosh Hashanah Message from Ziv Biron, IDB Bank President & CEO
To Our valued Clients and Partners,
On behalf of all of us at IDB Bank, I’d like to wish you and your loved ones a happy and healthy Rosh Hashanah!
As the largest Israeli-owned bank in the United States, we are proud to join you in celebrating the Jewish New Year, and we look forward to the bright possibilities ahead for both our organization and global community.
Unfortunately, we cannot look to the future without first reflecting on the year behind us. Of course, I would have preferred to focus this message on our business achievements, but I know that, today, the situation in Israel and around the world weighs far more heavily for many of us, so I would like to share my thoughts on this instead.
This year, Rosh Hashanah and the Jewish holidays mark one year since the devastating Hamas terrorist attacks on southern Israel, and the unprecedented aftermath that continues to impact all of us to this day. At the time I write this, the conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon, that started on Oct 8th, intensified dramatically; 101 of our sisters, brothers, parents, and children, remain hostages in the Hamas Tunnels in Gaza and casualties on all sides continue to climb without an end in sight. Here in the United States and around the world, we continue to experience an unprecedented rise in antisemitism and a wholly disappointing response from governments and leaders, especially in the higher education system.
However, in these great times of challenge, we have also witnessed the overwhelming power of goodwill, generosity, and activism across our global network, and through the unequivocal fortitude of the Israeli spirit. On a personal note, I have been truly humbled to know so many of you who are part of this story, stepping away from your personal lives and businesses without hesitation to stand for what is right, and helping those who continue to face difficult realities here in the United States and at home in Israel.
I believe that it is this – the strength of our collective response – that defines us, and paves the path to a brighter future.
We at IDB are both inspired and proud to stand with you in these efforts. Through the strength of our market position, and the commitment of our people, IDB has and will continue to lead in the critical initiatives that will support those among us who need it most. We have mobilized critical supplies to conflict areas, connected hundreds of displaced families to life-changing resources, and, today, continue to raise crucial funding for on-the-ground humanitarian efforts, including Discount Group’s Keren Or Foundation and much more.
At this time, and as we look to the New Year, we do so with optimism and hope that we will soon see a return to peace and stability across our communities.
Finally, and as always, we are proud to serve you and remain committed to supporting you as you navigate your businesses and personal wealth to reach your goals. As we go forward, we do so together, and with the belief that better days are ahead.
We thank you for your continued relationship and we look forward to serving you well into the future.
Shana Tova!
